AVIATION COMMERCIAL SERVICES INDUSTRY

Dong Nam A College respectfully announces the enrollment of new majors in the aviation field. These are cooperation programs with Vietjet Aviation Academy (VJAA), training future human resources to work at Vietjet in particular and the aviation industry in general.

The aviation commercial services industry is a broad field, opening up many career opportunities in the aviation industry, related to passenger service activities and cargo transportation services of airlines and airports. This is an industry that requires a high level of professionalism, good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a multicultural and diverse environment.

After completing this course, students are able to:

- Knowledge:

  • Understand the functions and tasks of each job position and related positions.
  • Present basic knowledge about the aviation industry, aviation security and safety and dangerous goods regulations.
  • Understand basic concepts about passengers, baggage, cargo and related documents in passenger, baggage and air cargo service.
  • Present general procedures for passenger and cargo service (departure, arrival, transfer).
  • Understand types of telegrams, symbols, abbreviations (related to passenger service and air cargo service).
  • Introduce passenger lists, cargo manifests, postal transport documents; Regulations on passenger service, cargo service of airlines and related ground service companies.
  • Present basic knowledge of using system software for passenger and cargo procedures; General knowledge of aircraft structure, principles of balance and loading on aircraft. Present basic knowledge of equipment for loading cargo and mail in air transport (ULD); General knowledge of loading cargo, types of boxes and trays and maximum loading capacity of boxes and trays. Understand the document circulation process. Present the process of cleaning, safety at work and safety when working on the apron; How to identify tools and materials that do not ensure quality and quantity in work activities; Operating principles of working tools such as scales, walkie-talkies, etc. Have English proficiency that meets output standards.

- Skills:

  • Able to use software for passenger and air cargo procedures.
  • Operate computers, printers, boarding passes, luggage tags, etc.
  • Identify types of labels, auxiliary tags by color, symbols, abbreviations; Types of documents, passenger papers, documents related to air transport, postal items.
  • Read tickets and check the validity of passenger papers, cargo declarations of shippers and other related documents.
  • Identify types of frequent flyer cards.
  • Find information on passenger and cargo service regulations of airlines, related ground service companies.
  • Send and receive telegrams related to passenger and cargo service.
  • Use the broadcasting system and broadcasting technology correctly.
  • Enter correct and complete information on the electric board in front of the check-in counter (Passenger procedure counter).
  • Use walkie-talkies.
  • Read, understand and check and compare types of telegrams.
  • Print telegrams and stick labels (stickers).
  • Guide passengers to fill out customs declarations and immigration forms.
  • Check and compare information on telegrams.
  • Identify types of tools, equipment, and forms according to regulations.
  • Fill in and complete relevant forms.
  • Calculate the load balance table on aircraft types such as Airbus A320/A321, A330.
  • Implement instructions for loading aircraft on Airbus A320/321, A330.
  • Supervise flight services at the parking lot
  • Control the actual process outside the aircraft and inappropriate services.
  • Read and understand and prepare the Manifest and Passenger Manifest.
  • Observe, report and respond to information.
  • Count and calculate quickly and accurately.
  • Arrange and keep records neatly.
  • Communicate effectively.

After graduating from the Aviation Commercial Services course, students have the opportunity to:

  • Priority for recruitment to work as Passenger and Baggage Service or Staff at ticket counters and Vietjet representative offices.
  • Work at airport terminals (passenger, cargo); ground service companies, freight forwarding agents; Air cargo service; Airline representative offices.
  • Work in the tourism service industry in the position of organizing the pick-up and drop-off of passengers from/to the airport.
  • Students are fully equipped with knowledge, skills and degrees, certificates, ready to work immediately after graduation. In addition, students will receive a Vocational Intermediate Certificate/ Vocational Primary Certificate from the Southeast Asia Vocational College (Ministry of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs) and professional certificates issued by Vietjet Aviation Academy (Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam).
